Most suitable

One of the main reasons that brought me back to London was my increasing interest in the sartorial, and what is considered the mecca of this (in certain circles) is on Savile Row, in particular the renowned firm of Anderson & Sheppard (which by the way, is not on the Row itself but a block away, but is still considered a part of the Row).   After having read and seen much on them, it was with some trepidation and much enthusiasm that I made it a visit to the house first thing come the morning after I arrived in town.  I will also preface by saying that as in the case of most of these establishments, photography is in general frowned upon.

The fabled house awaiting the arrival of the Great and the Good.

There were two things that I will remember from this visit besides the impeccable and refined service- one was a most amusing "menu" which had the price list (although I suspect that this was not meant for the client to look through, as I was just browsing around and picked up what struck my fancy) and the second was the appearance of one of the staff there ("O.") who I knew second-hand from his writings on the Anderson & Sheppard website.  I knew that he was one of the juniors, but by the way he wore the clothes (not letting it wear him, or being part of a uniform) and the confidence he radiated (which is, surprisingly, quite rare among people in general), I could very well see him becoming a "Guv'nor" of a house some day.

As for whether I ordered the usual fifty suits (per year) as did one of Anderson & Sheppard's most illustrious clients of the past, I leave for the reader to guess.
