As mentioned in the last post, the excitement of being in the moment makes one think sometimes that one is really in the center of things. But, in one case, this is true, as not far from the Hotel Esmeralda where I stayed is Notre Dame in all its flying buttress and tourist glory- and right in front of it is a small marker that distinguishes its position as being "Point Zero"- the site from which all distances in France are measured. If one stands atop that position, one is the center of France- if one chooses to believe so.
