Here I Go Again

Although it is true that I took a bit of a small detour before arriving in Sendai, my plane having dropped me off in Tokyo, I eventually did find my way there (or, here, as the case may be as I write these lines) with all the expectations, jet lag, enthusiasms and secret disappointments (one of which, knowing my character, is the fact that Vermeer's Girl with the Pearl Earring would be touring Tokyo a week later, but would be there for a few months so I thought I would probably see it at some time despite the expense of travel)

But, it seems that for the most part, wherever I go, I seem to be there. That is probably the best and worst part of it, and an entirely unavoidable one.  For the time being, I may be firmly entrenched here, unless by hook or by crook, I find a way to escape and survive (glamorously, gloriously).

as we approached sendai but then down to tokyo.

tokyo was a blur as we drove into the city that night

thinking of paris, proust, pain au chocolat (tokyo tower)
